Lead Practice Nurse
After primarily qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1988 I went on to do my midwifery training, and following working on a maternity unit, went on to work on a children's ward. I have worked in both NHS & private sectors gaining experience in both medical and surgical areas. I have also worked in the community for many years as a Public Health Nurse and completed my BSc in 2009 as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse for 5-19 years. I continue to enjoy and embrace working with children, and I also have a keen interest in respiratory conditions, in which I have enjoyed running specialist asthma and COPD clinics. It is a privilege to be leading an enthusiastic team of nurses who are dynamic and forward thinking with patients best interests at heart.
I started my career as a nursing cadet when I left school, before moving on to be an auxiliary nurse and then qualifying in 2007. I have a background in surgical nursing including plastic surgery and complex wounds, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and clinical trials. I have a keen interest in wound management, sexual health and respiratory care. I am excited to be working in primary care, bringing my experience to the local community.
